Oxford newcomers Trophy Wife are set to release their new single 'The Quiet Earth' on February 28th.
Hype can be a dangerous commodity. Emerging from the same math rock scene which spawned Foals and YouthMovies, Trophy Wife managed to get tongues with just a handful of shows.
Deliberately restricting their London appearances, Trophy Wife finally entered the capital last year. Fresh from the release of 'Microlite' the band bowled over the hipsters, finding themselves proclaimed as one of 2011's great hopes.
Bet the band thought they were just making music...
Taking a short break, Trophy Wife have now confirmed details of a new single. 'The Quiet Earth' / 'White Horses' is due to be released on February 28th, on the band's home of Moshi Moshi.
Driven by propulsive beats, whispered vocals and skittering guitars 'The Quiet Earth' is a triumphant return from Trophy Wife. The trio are branching out, demonstrating the versatility of their songwriting.
Due for release on February 28th, Trophy Wife will follow the single with a stint on tour with Esben And The Witch. Beginning at the end of the month, the two sees two of Britain's finest guitar hopes united for a series of live dates.
Opening in Bristol on January 31st, the tour winds its way round the country before finishing in London's XOYO venue on February 9th.
