American alt rock legends Buffalo Tom are preparing to return with their new studio album 'Skins'.
One of the defining American rock bands of the pre-grunge period, Buffalo Tom were pushed to fame along with countless other groups in the post-'Nevermind' era. Yet their commercial success never dulled their ambition.
Feeling that they had run out of things to say, Buffalo Tom went on hiatus as the Millennium dawned. A brave move, which was eventually broken when the band roared back to life in 2007 with 'Three Easy Pieces'.
A celebrated return from a perennially under-rated band, Buffalo Tom are now close to releasing a follow up. 'Skins' is set to be released later this year, and was produced with long time collaborators Paul Q. Kolderie and Tom Polce.
Finding themselves on familiar territory, Buffalo Tom have invited some old friends along. Guests include Tanya Donnelly of Belly, Breeders and Throwing Muses fame, while sonically the band have returned to the sound of their early 90s peak.
Set to be released later this year, Buffalo Tom will expand 'Skins' with a host of demos, B-sides and more. The vinyl version of the album will come with a download card featuring the additional songs.
Due to be released on March 7th, 'Skins' is being kept under wraps. However in a new move Buffalo Tom have uploaded one new track to the internet, with 'Arise Watch' available to stream or download.
