Corinne Bailey Rae is set to release new covers EP 'The Love' on February 14th.

Corinne Bailey Rae has not had is easy these past few years. An acclaimed singer, the Leeds artist was left shell shocked by the sudden death of her husband in 2008. Taking time off music, the jazz influenced diva only returned last year.

Struggling to piece her life back together, Corinne Bailey Rae proved that her incredible voice remained intact. Now the singer is throwing herself into a new project, with the covers EP 'The Love'.

Due for release on Valentine's Day, the EP contains some special covers. Corinne Bailey Rae has tackled the Prince classic ‘I Wanna Be Your Lover’ alongside a host of other romantic tracks.

The Leeds singer has recorded a version of Paul McCartney's 'My Love' while Bob Marley's 'Is This Love?' is also given a new lease of life.

Elsewhere, the indie rock crunch of Belly's 'Low Red Moon' gives way to a Sly & The Family Stone-inspired live version of Doris Day’s ‘Que Sera Sera’.

“I recorded this EP as we travelled, taping a gig in Washington DC, snatching a few hours in an Amsterdam studio, recording backing vocals under a duvet in freezing New York, sweltering in Las Vegas as we couldn’t record with the noisy air-con turned on, editing in the back of a tour bus in Korea and channelling vivid memories of racing around Coachella trying to catch Sly Stone’s performance."

"Not only is this EP an homage to some of my favourite musicians and a conversation between some of my musical influences, but these tracks are snapshots of my year around the world.”

Currently on tour in the Far East, Corinne Bailey Rae has begun preparations for her third album.
