The opening months of the year witness music fans suffering a deluge of lists proclaiming the 'Brightest Hopes' or 'Ones To Watch'.

Yet critics have rarely been known for their clairvoyance. Too often the bands cited disappear into the ether - or worse still have been around for some time anyway. Starting as a bedroom project, Cloud Nothings should prove difficult to ignore.

Led by Dylan Baldi, the Cleveland group have been making music for years. An ever evolving collective, Baldi's fuzzed up bedroom pop has a touch of wilful amateurism which cuts against the grain.

Signing to Wichita, a series of limited edition singles were collected last year. Working on their debut album, Cloud Nothings have delivered a long player which does not sacrifice their naivety.

Due for release later this month, Cloud Nothings have honed their fuzzed up riffs into something resembling pop music. Innocently skewed power pop, the band have made good on those early expectations.

Taken from their debut album, 'Understand At All' is laid back slacker rock. Sharing the same insomniac tendencies as Wavves, Cloud Nothings have ambitions far beyond their bedroom.
