Pete Doherty has confirmed details of a new eighteen date solo tour of Britain and Ireland.
Pete Doherty endured mixed fortunes in 2010. On the one hand the singer was able to reform The Libertines, brushing off the cobwebs with a memorable show onstage at the Reading and Leeds festival.
Yet the singer remained in legal difficulty, with a recent court appearance for possession of cocaine descending into farce.
Now the controversial songwriter will attempt to push the focus back onto his music. Pete Doherty has confirmed a batch of tour dates, his first major live duties since the Libertines reformation.
As always, Pete Doherty has been working on new material which could be aired on the tour. Silent since the acoustic balladry of 'Grace / Wastelands' a new Babyshambles - or maybe even a solo record - would be gratefully received (hint, hint Pete).
The new tour opens in Leamington Spa on May 3rd, before travelling to Leicester, Bristol, Oxford and more. A one off London show is due to take place on May 10th in Shepherds Bush Empire before the singer travels North.
Due to play Glasgow's historic Barrowlands venue on May 20th, Pete Doherty will then fly over to Ireland. Playing a series of shows, the tour will finish in Belfast on May 29th with some no doubt typically exuberant celebrations.
Tickets for the shows go on sale this Friday (January 28th).
