A rolling collective centred on DJ / producer Andy Butler, Hercules & Love Affair took time off after their 2008 debut. The strain of near constant touring took its toll, with Butler returning to the turntables to unwind.
Falling back in love with classic house music, the songwriter began to craft material for a potential second album. Gathering a new line up with some familiar faces, Hercules & Love Affair began work on their new record last year.
Releasing some new material under the moniker Mr Intl, Andy Butler was kept busy. Signing with Moshi Moshi, Hercules & Love Affair are set to release their second album 'Blue Songs' on January 31st.
The album is set to become a party favourite, bursting at the seams with energy. Hercules & Love Affair are not afraid to be called retro, while the emotional impact of their music cannot be ignored.
A more tempered, moody affair than their euphoric debut, 'Blue Songs' has an undeniable edge. Containing a host of guest appearances - and the odd classic house cover - the album is a cracking return from the New York house collective.
