Slow Club have been forced to cancel their May tour due to percussionist Rebecca Taylor falling ill.
Beginning as a ramshackle twee duo, Slow Club have evolved into a serious songwriting force. Combining elements of 60s girl group, rockabilly and good ol' fashioned indie pop debut album 'Yeah So' was a triumph.
Recorded in bursts when the pair weren't on the road, 'Yeah So' had a rare cohesion. Charles and Rebecca's voices seemed to blend, with tracks such as 'Giving Up On Love' sounding sweet but having a sting in the tail.
Taking time off to focus on a follow up, Slow Club are close to completing their second album. Due to be released later this year, the duo announced a full nationwide tour this May to break in new material.
However in the run up to the tour Rebecca Taylor fell ill, pushing back the potential release date. Still recovering, fears over the percussionist's health have led to Slow Club cancelling their May tour.
All dates are postponed, but in slightly better news Slow Club have re-arranged each show for September. All tickets from the original shows are still valid, but if you can't make it then don't worry - refunds are available from the point of purchase.
The new tour opens in Nottingham's Bodega venue on September 12th. Taking in dates in Birmingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, Lancaster and more the duo will visit Glasgow on September 18th.
Slow Club have confirmed a celebratory London show in Shepherds Bush Empire on September 26th, before the tour comes to an end in Brighton on September 29th.
