Lone is set to return later this year with the release of his new EP 'Echolocations'.
Real name Matt Cutler, Lone is one of Nottingham's brightest sparks. Marking fuzzed up electronica, the bouncy beats and home made feel do not detract from a deeply involving emotional centre.
Perhaps best known for his album 'Lemurian' Lone matched vintage synths with skewed hip hop beats. Follow up release 'Ecstasy And Friends' stuck to this format, before the producer embarked on a series of EPs.
Releasing four standalone EPs across 2009 and 2010, Lone then decided to take a small break. Re-charging his batteries, the producer is set to release yet another EP later this year - this time on legendary dance label R&S.
Initially returning as a re-print label, R&S began signing new acts in 2008. Since then, the label has released some sterling stuff including an EP from a then unknown dubstep producer called James Blake.
Matching a peerless back catalogue to a bristling current roster, R&S are due to handle the new EP from Lone. Spread across two 12 inches, the producer has completed six tracks all of which have great titles.
Opening 'Coreshine Voodoo' just has to be good, while anything called 'Approaching Rainbow' is bound to be worth a listen. R&S have made several snippets available to stream, which reveal Lone's otherworldly electronica to be right in place.
Still no sign of a full length, though.
