Dundonian indie rascals The View are close to completing work on what they claim will be an extremely "different" third album.
The View burst out of Dundee with some breakneck indie anthems and a ton of ambition. Yet the band have always tried to move forwards, with their second album 'Which Bitch?' finding them introducing elements of classical music and rap.
Moving to Liverpool to get some peace from party-hardy friends, The View have been stockpiling new material. ClashMusic spoke to them last year and singer Kyle Falconer claimed that they had enough material for two albums.
Now the band have revealed that work is almost complete on their third album, which will contain a few surprises for fans.
Producer Youth is helming sessions, following work with The Verve and Sir Paul McCartney. Speaking to The Daily Record, bass player Kieran Webster explained that the producer has been a great help.
"Youth is producing it," he explained. "He is a great producer. He's really cool and it was a great experience working with him. Every producer is going to have a different sound and he came up with some good ideas."
Currently without a title, the bass player claimed that The View's new material will be a great surprise to fans. "This album is different and sounds big," he said. "It has elements of the first and second albums in it. It has funky guitar and pop led tunes on it and a couple of things you wouldn't expect".
The View are set to play at this summer's T In The Park, with the band also arranging a one off warm show in Inverness. The band have confirmed the following show:
