The first weather predictions are coming in for Glastonbury - and it looks like sunshine for the whole weekend!

Glastonbury is synonymous with mud. Consecutive summers of heavy rainfall turned the fields of Worthy Farm into sludge, with news reports covered in festival goers gleefully flinging themselves into mud ponds.

However in its 40th year it seems that Glastonbury is destined for sunshine. Headliners include Stevie Wonder, Gorillaz and Muse and according to the latest reports the groups had better bring their sunscreen.

The latest forecasts are predicting dry, sunny weather throughout the entire weekend. BBC Weather is predicting temperatures of around 23 degrees Celsius with a dry outlook throughout the entire weekend.

Meanwhile, independent forecasters Positive Weather Solutions are predicting dry weather for the whole weekend. However there is an outside threat of light showers on Thursday night to Friday morning.

Temperatures for the Somerset festival will range between 22 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius.

Speaking to fans on Twitter, Glastonbury organisers advised ticket holders to be prepared for any type of weather. "Lots of you asking us about weather. We say play it safe: bring wellies, bring suncream and hope you get more use out of the latter."

ClashMusic will be onsite throughout the festival, expect updates as and when they arrive.
