Nu metal icons Slipknot are still considering their future in the wake of Paul Gray's death.
Love them or loathe them, Slipknot are difficult to ignore. Behind those masks lurk some of the most potent figures in nu metal, with the band's output selling countless millions across the globe.
Taking time off, the future of Slipknot was placed in severe doubt earlier this year after the death of bass player Paul Gray. Found slumped in his hotel room, the musician died of a heroin overdose.
Shattered, the group have refused to talk about their future. In an interview with Zane Lowe band member Corey Taylor claimed that it was "too soon" to make plans.
"It's too soon right now, but we're still talking, all of us are talking and everthing's good but we'll see," he said.
Corey Taylor is currently working on a solo project, but album sessions were halted in unusual circumstances. Side project Stone Sour were busy recording their new album 'Audio Secrecy' earlier this year when the area was devastated by floods.
"The floods hit midway through and I wasn't even in Nashville," he said. "Nobody called me, nobody told me and I was catching a flight back with my wife and we stopped off in Memphis. We ran over to a TV and there were aerial shots of the Grand Ole Opry just decimated."
Continuing, the metal icon revealed the extent of the devastation. "We got back to Nashville and it was flooded around the house, but it wasn't really affected. But all the neighbourhoods were and it was just crazy. I'm driving by and people are literally in boats paddling into their houses."
Stone Sour are due to release new album 'Audio Secrecy' on September 7th.
